Celebration of Teacher Day at BCH – (September 9, 2017)
Every year on 5th September, we celebrate Teachers Day as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society. 5th September is the birthday of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education, and was the well-known diplomat, scholar, President of India, and above all, a teacher.
When Dr. Radhakrishnan became the President of India in 1962, he was approached by some of his students and friends and requested him to allow them to celebrate 5th September, his “Birthday”. In reply, Dr. Radhakrishnan said, “Instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege if 5th September is observed as Teachers’ Day”. The request showed Dr. Radhakrishnan’s love for the teaching profession. From then onwards, the day has been observed as Teachers’ Day in India.
So, on this auspicious occasion at morning school children had organized a multi cultural program at school play ground to their loving and kind teacher, and in the evening our children organized a multi-cultural program under the guidance of Captain and Senior children to honor the founder of BCH, Latri Nyma Dakpa Rinpoche, and staff members of BCH on this special day. Program begins with the cultural program hosted by boys and girls captain. Being a very special day, children presented a different culture program, and they also organized a game (Musical Chairs) for staff members to make this special day more colorful. At the end of program, children present gift to all the staff members for our honor and program. We end with a vote of thanks from our girl’s captain.
I, on behave all the staff members, would like to thanks our children for organizing such a party to honor us on such auspicious day. The love and respect which you have shown to us give us more strength and energy to work more for the development of BCH and for the children of BCH. By taking this opportunity I also like to thanks to all our sponsors, members of foundation and supporter for their love and support towards BCH for such a long period of time in every situation. Without the love and support of you all it won’t be possible to organize such event. So, once again thank you for everything.
Thank you,
Phuntsok Dhargyal
